The history of the American company Audeze (O-Dizy) began in 2008, when its founders Sankar Thiagasamudram and Alexander Rosson met engineer Pete Uka, who was working at NASA to develop a specialized flexible material for printed materials. plat. The future founders of Audeze quickly realized that such material could be used to produce the best membranes for headphone drivers. Dragoslav Colich, who by that time had 30 years of experience in designing planar headphones, was appointed to the position of technical director of the company. Under his leadership, the first headphone model was created - Audeze LCD-1.
Over time, the company's first headphone model was improved, which led to the emergence of the legendary, award-winning Audeze LCD-2 and LCD-3, as well as the LCD-X and XC, which were distinguished by higher sensitivity. Thanks to the advent of relatively inexpensive Audeze EL-8 headphones and the Sine and iSine series, magnetic-planar technology has become available to the general consumer. All of these headphones feature a stylish industrial design created by Audeze's main partner, Designworks, part of the BMW Group.
Audeze is a tight-knit group of engineers, developers and entrepreneurs with decades of experience in audio reproduction. At the same time, all headphones and accessories are made by hand and only in the USA. All the company's headphones are capable of uniting you and your music into a single whole, without any coloration or overtones. Many headphones add their own special touch to the music, adding changes to the bass or elevated treble. Audeze headphones are capable of reproducing sound so transparent that you feel as if you are not listening to headphones or even a recording of music, but to the artist himself. By constantly improving planar driver technology, Audeze was able to significantly improve the design of the driver itself and the magnetic structure, which made the sound of the headphones even more exciting. Thanks to technological advances, all Audeze headphones have the deepest and most precise bass, emotional, soul-stirring mids and ringing, detailed highs without distortion. Even though all Audeze headphones have roughly the same frequency range, each of them conveys different nuances of sound depending on where and in what area you use them.
The design of Audeze headphones is based on proprietary developments in the field of magneto-planar technology: membranes made of extremely thin film and powerful specially manufactured magnets. Planar drivers avoid the inherent disadvantages of conventional cone drivers; in particular, Audeze's nearly weightless diaphragms are able to move faster than other sound-emitting elements - moving coil membranes or classic dome cones. In addition, in magnetic-planar headphones, the turns of the voice coil are distributed over the entire surface of the diaphragm. The audio signal applied to the coil leads to the appearance of an alternating magnetic field in it, which, interacting with the constant field of the magnet, causes the membrane to vibrate and thereby emit sound.
For more than ten years, all the company’s efforts have been aimed at developing and implementing the latest technologies in the production of new emitters and headphones. Thanks to this, many Audeze headphones are recognized throughout the world as references, not only by narrow specialists in the field of sound, but also by a huge number of music lovers and professional musicians. Thanks to their unique sound, advanced technology, the highest build quality and a unique design that can provide listening comfort for many hours, Audeze headphones have received many prestigious awards at international exhibitions and from the most authoritative music publications.
The range of headphones produced by Audeze today is very large, this is a family of top-end, closed-back headphones of the LCD series (LCD-X, LCD-XC, LCD-3, LCD-4, as well as models EL-8 Titanium, EL-8 closed-Back , and open at the back EL-8 Open-Back). Audeze's new compact on-ear headphones, the SINE, have won multiple awards, including Best Headphones of CES.
The company managed to design the world's first in-ear magnetic planar headphones, the Audeze iSine10 and Audeze iSine20, for which it was awarded the “Innovation Award” at CES 2017 (“CES Innovations 2017 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree”).
